Ladies Footballer from Desertmartin | Signed on: why are there no mention of the recent ladies footballers teams on the website? we train just as hard and we get just as far as the men? Admin's Comment: Information is requested from all codes and grades within the club, however very few of them submit any information. Feel free to write up a summary of the year so far including results and reports and I will post them on the site. |

| Concerned | Signed on: was at the championship game on Saturday and waht a disappointment it was. Ardmore wouldn't beat Desertmartin reserves yet we allowed thenm to stay in the game till about the last 10 minutes. What was more worrying then the performance was we looked like 15 individuals, there was no obvious game plan and too often players runs into good positions but didn't get passed the ball. unless we can get a bit of team play going then there is no hope of any silverware this year. |

Mark from Longfield | Signed on: Well done to our seniors on Sunday when they battled a great performance to draw with the Intermediate champions Newbridge. Keep up they good work and good luck in your championship game on Saturday lads Desertmartin bu |

| michael | Signed on: Our boys just went to pieces in that minute blitx from Greenlough. Enda Lynn was in a class of his own, but i'm sure we'll bounce back. By the way is that the biggest margin of defeat in Desertmartin Seniors history. |

| Michael | Signed on: What happened on Saturday was a hard earned lesson that one swallow doesn't make a summer. We beat Ballymaguigan in a very intense game last week and the same intensity wasn't there this week. In fair Greenlough hit one of those days when nothing was going wrong for them. Thought we may have lost part of our attack by having to bring certain players too far back but with the injuries we are carrying I don't think the management had much option. Don't get me wrong this does not make us a bad team. We have one week to turn it around and give Newbridge a taste of the Longfield welcomme Ballymaguigan recieved. Supporters be there and do your part. Excellent win for the reserves on Friday night with 9 points from Jimmy returning from injury. |

The Bear from Near the field with the U.14's | Signed on: Two fantastic results in three days from this superbly talented bunch of individuals. The first team dispatched were Newbridge on Saturday in the Feile semi final by 2-4 to 1-2. This scoreline did not reflect the dominance of the Martins and statistics would have shown Desertmartin having at least 70% of the play. This was a team effort, however, Mark Kidd, Connor Murray, Harry Mulholland and Kieron Fullen deserve special mention for their hard work and endeavour. Fast forward to Monday evening and the opposition in the first league match was a very strong and powerful Craigbane team. The game was even at half time 1-1 to 0-4 and the Martins definetly knew that they were in a match. Things did not go well early in the second half and strong play from the opposition saw them go into a four point lead. All seemed lost as the clock ticked away. However, the character and determination of this young team came to the fore. Dermot McGuigan began pulling the strings in midfield and the workrate of Dermot Breen, Luke McBride, Danny Doyle and big Connor Murray stopped Craigbane in their tracks. Vital scores from Paddy Devlin, Mark Kidd and one goal and two points from Dan 'the man' O'Hagan saw Desertmartin run out winners by four points 2-8 to 1-7. Its fair to say that this is an extremely talented and committed team who are reported to hardly ever miss training. It is important to get the supporters out in numbers to cheer them on and mark my words this team will not let anyone down |

| Michael Hegarty | Signed on: Great result on Sunday at home where our Seniors entertained Ballymaguigan with St Martins running out victors on a score of 9 points to 8. First half 15 minutes in, visitors were 2(2 frees) to 1(free Barry) ahead but to the end of the half we powered ahead with 4 more points (Aidy 2 from play and frees from Johny T and Barry) with the visitors adding 1 point to leave the half time score 5.to 3. The second half started with a flurry of scores from the home side (Barry 3,2 frees, 1 from play, Mark 1 from play) with the visitors only able to pick up yellow cards (3 to add to their 1 from the first half. By 11th minute the score was 8 to 3 .Both teams swapped points in the next minute (Barry from play) to leave it 9 to 4. This was to be St Martins last score. The visitors raised a flag on the 14th minute eve though the home umpire gave it wide and then the deciding decision of the game occoured on the 15th minute. A very strange decision to award a penalty when charging would have been the more obvious result was served justice with a save from Chrissy Bradley (Liam watch out. The home defence held on conceeding a number of dubious frees but as the visitors could only pick off 3 of them St Martins ran out deserved winners 9 points to 8. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the game but from my spy I hear Paddy Kidd should get man of the match. I hear he covered so much ground he must have had a case or red bull that morning. But I'm sure Paddy will tell you there is no point in getting a man of the match accolade and ending up on the loosing side so congrats to the whole team. On a down side I have to make the following request. Anyone who wants to watch more good competitive football and support a home team, we have reserve football played every Friday and they deserve your support so get out there and cheer them on. Next match I believe is away to Moneymore on Friday with the Seniors travelling to Greenlough on Saturday evening |

| Michael | Signed on: When is the club taking numbers for the league final? Its been a long time since a derry fan enjoyed going to one and it would be a pity to miss it. Hope to see a good crowd out for our next Senior game vs the Quigan. I think this will be a real tester and hopefully the lads will step up to the mark. Admin's Comment: Michael, any club member requesting tickets for Derry v Kerry NFL Final should contact Pat Kidd or Stephine Brown before 6pm on Thursday 17th |
