Seniors finish league with a win

Following what has been an up and down season for the seniors things came good in the final game of the season away to a Foreglen team that finished second in the league.

With little in the league positions between 5th and 10th our lads know that a win should have been enough to take us into a possible top 6 finish and alon with other results going our way would also have seen our senior football for the season over with a place in division 2A our reward.

As it turned out our lads got the win that was needed but there is still plenty to play for following Claudy’s victory over Limavady.

With Drumsurn, Claudy and ourselves all on 14 points a play off will have to take place to see which two from these 4 takes their place in the top 6 and who finds themselves in a further playoff to have any chance of staying in division 2A

Back to the game what an unlikly finish it had. With the game level with 5 to play the managment introduced John Hughes for his first game at senior level for the club. What was to follow even John would not believe. The closing minutes saw john clock up 3 points as well and putting away a penelaty to finich the game with 1-03 and leave our lads with a 6 point victory.

Final score: Foreglen 1-06 Desertmartin 1-12

Well done lads and good luck with the next game.
