Club Gym

COMING SPRING 2023

Work to build our club gym started in January 2023. The project has sped along since and is now nearing completion, thanks to the generosity of our backers and the help of our local tradesmen. Whilst everyone is understandably want to get a look about there are still electrical and plumbing works to finish off and we would ask the public to let the trades men at it.

This project aims to drive up the standards of our footballing teams, as well as provide a valuable service for our non-playing members and the people of the wider community.

Together with the Community Services Hub we aim to be a healthy shared space for everyone in the local area, without the need to travel into town.

The gym promises to be an exciting new high quality facility, constructed with insulated panels and fitted out with high quality gym equipment as well as an audio visual and sound system, toilets and warm showers. The club physiotherapy office will also be based in the building to lead the rehabilitation of our injured players, and will be available to the public for assessment and treatment.

Who can use the gym?

The gym will be set up to ensure everyone who can use a gym will have the opportunity to do so. The primary driving force behind the gym is to aid in the physical development of our playing members, and supervised group sessions will be put in place for our teams in an age appropriate way.

When the gym is not being used for group activities, it will be accessible to the public, pending the completion of an induction and payment of your monthly subscription, which is now the norm for gym facilities the world over.

When can I go?

The gym will be accessed by fingerprint recognition. Once you have paid your subscription your fingerprint will be set up on the access system. This allows us to keep track patterns of use and keep an eye on who is in the gym and when.

How much will it cost?

Subscriptions costs are yet to be finalised but there will be rates for the general public as well as discounted rates for current club members, students and families.

What about exercise classes?

The gym will have a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach who will conduct inductions and run a number of classes for St Martin’s GAC members (for insurance purposes you must be a member).

These classes will be available for club members without the need for a subscription and will be pay as you go, however if you would like to use the gym individually at another time, you will need a gym subscription.

WALK AROUND

Here you can see when the gym is booked for GROUP SESSIONS and CLASSES. At these times we would ask that individuals give the groups space to complete their sessions.
