The Anthony McSwiggan inter-parish memorial tournament took place last Sunday. The regions within the parish that took part were Cullion/Bracka; Coolcalm; Longfield and Tirgan. The tournament was well attended by players who are currently playing and those who have recently retired. Cullion/Bracka and Tirgan contested the final with Tirgan emerging as four point winners. In the clubrooms afterwards chairman Pat Kidd paid tribute to the great work that Anthony McSwiggan did for the club during the time that Anthony was chairman. Patricia McSwiggan, Anthony’s wife, presented the tournament trophy to the winning captain Greg McGovern and the trophy for player of the tournament to Paul McGovern. A special thanks to Aidan McAlynn from Loup who refereed all games. The club are deeply grateful to all club members who helped out and particularly the kitchen staff who provided meals for everyone during and after games.
