Club Notes 7th May 2007

Weekly club notes including Club Merchandise, VHI Summer Camp, Gala Dinner, Gaeltacht Sponsorship, this weeks fixtures, championship first round plus the weekly lotto results.

Club Merchandise

The club is now taking orders for anyone wishing to purchase either a club tracksuit or hoodie. If interested can you please contact one of the following club members: Ciaran Higgins (07968837094) Peter Donnelly (07944702434) or Rory Murray (07729184575) . The cut of date has been extended to next Monday the 14th of May at 8.30pm. Samples will be available for sizing etc. Any pre-ordered merchandise can be collected on Monday nights between 8.30pm and 9pm.

VHI Summer Camp

Please note the VHI Summer Camp will be held on 14th, 15th and 16th Of August in Longfield. This is open to 7-13 year-olds. Application forms can be obtained from the Treasurer Veronica Smith.

Gala Dinner

The Club is holding a Gala Dinner on the 17th November 2007 in the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown. Tables are now available and can be booked by either contacting the organisers :Brian Og Gormley (79631148), Gerry McGuigan(79634419), Peter Donnelly(79634511), Kevin Monaghan(79301677) or emailing via the website www.desertmartingac.com. Dress code will be formal and further information can be obtained from any of the above. Please note table no's are limited and also individual places can also be booked.

U14's. Greenlough v Desertmartin on Thursday 10th may at 7pm.
U16's: Desertmartin v Ballymaguigan on Saturday 12th May at 7pm.
Minor's: Slaughtmanus v Desertmartin on Sunday 13th May at 3.30pm
Reserves: Desertmartin v Moneymore on Monday 14th May at 7.30pm
Seniors: Desertmartin v Moneymore on Tuesday 15th May at 7.30pm

 

Championship v's Steelstown

The seniors met Steelstown on Sunday at Banagher in the first round of the Intermediate Championship. Desertmartin had a very depleted side with eight players injured or unavailable. Superb defence especially  Ciaran Higgins senior and goal keeping from Declan Kidd gave them a three point win over their opponents. Donal Murray pointed some superb frees and goals from Eamon McBride and Cormac McGuckin kept the 'Martins in the driving seat thought out. Next round is against Newbridge on June 10th.
