Seniors drop more points

Following defeat last weekend at the hands of Limavady, our seniors had the opportunity to get back to winning ways with a home fixture against Slaughtmanus.

However, the low in confidence that seems to be running through the current crop of players resulted in a one point defeat this week again.

Following our opening game of the season against Foreglen things looked bright for the campaign ahead, however following the past two results things have looked anything but.

This game, although being a slight improvement from the previous week, still was a far cry from the side that held the top of the table team of last year Magherafelt to 2 points in the last league game of last season. Or the comfortable win over Moneymore in the playoff game. The big mystery being, where did that team go and why are they being replaced by this current team?

Truth be told, there really are not that many changes, and it is not the fault of the couple of new faces that are in for these past few results either. The blame in fact lies with the fact that playing yesterdays game, assisted with a really strong wind in the first half we could only register 3 points on the board in comparison to the 7 Slaughtmanus stroked over. This sounds like a familiar story for the club.

On the positives Eamon McBride put in another good performance at full back adding a couple of crucial and well timed blocks to his days work.
