Under 12's v's Ballinderry Match report

On Wednesday evening St Martins U.12s entertained Ballinderry Shamrocks in a league match at Longfield.

Desertmartin 0-04 Ballinderry 1-01

The weather and conditions were terrible and the rain fell constantly throughout the match. However, this did not dampen the spirit and fight of this extremely talented group of individuals.

After five minutes the Martins found themselves 1-1 to 0-0 down and the writing seemed to be on the wall, but it was not to be and for the remainder of the game the Desertmartin lads laid siege to the Ballinderry goal. Bit by bit points went over and in the last minute of normal time Dean O’Hagan slotted the equalising score.

Ballinderry then produced a last attack and only for a fantastic save from Mark Kidd the Shamrocks would have went home with an undeserved victory. Desertmartin had many fine performers on the night and outstanding displays from the two Breens, Dermot McGuigan, Eoin McGuigan, Connor Murray and Adrian Trainor deserve a special mention. However, it must be pointed out that this was a team effort and every member of the squad played a part in this game.

Next up is Newbridge on Saturday 16th at 2pm. (Longfield)
