Desertmartin 0-11 Slaughneil 2-09
The seniors put on a good display in their first competitive game of the season. With a heavy pitch Deseretmartin did well to battled back from four points down in the second half. The score line may not be a fair reflection of the game as the teams where level with 2 minutes left to play, with the game in the balance Slaughneil got the break and punished Desertmartins mistakes to score a point, followed by a converted pelenty in injury time.
Desertmartin fielded a lot of new faces, with starting places for Gavin Kidd, Cormac Mcguckin, and Eugene Murray. All of which took their chance and put in impressive performances.
As the second half progressed desertmartin made a lot of changes the most noticeable being the introduction of Enda McGuckin. Enda settled in quickly and showed great skill to score a couple of points.
