Reserves keep run going

With this game being billed as the league decider by both teams there was always going to be an entertaining match in stall for anyone who turned up to see it.

Following the convincing victory over Coleraine the last day out it was the turn of a few of the younger lads to sit this game out and make way for the return of a few more familiar faces to the line up in this crucial game.

Following their late defeat against the Martin?s in last years championship final there was no doubt the Quigan were going to be up for this game and so they showed early on with both sets of players playing hard but fair play from the off.

Desertmartin, with Aidan Bradley leading the attack and Donal Murray back on club duty quickly got down to business helping the Martin?s open up a 3 points to nil lead. Ballymaguigan were not to be left behind and soon afterwards opened their account. With the Desertmartin lads sticking to their game plan they some popped over a few more scores leaving the score at half time Desertmartin 0.06 Ballymaguigan 0.02

The second half saw Ballymaguigan come out not intending to lye down without a fight and soon found them selves back in the game at 6 points to 4. An Aidan Bradley points steadied the Martin?s before the quigan hit back with another point to leave only 2 in it again.

Then came the score of the game. A long balled, played into Donal Murray was picked up with all of 55 yards between him and the goal. Donal quickly turns his man and gets on his way. Finding himself on the 21 year line he pops the ball left to the waiting Johnny Trainor who makes no mistakes when gifted with a chance like that and unleashes a clinking shot to the back of the net to leave it 1.07 to 5 points. This score just seems to push the Martin?s on and they went on to stretch their lead with some well taken scores.
