The Reseves put on a Dominate display to beat Kilrea in the Quarter final of the Graham Cup.
Final score: Kilrea 1-08 Desertmartin 4-08
Desertmartin traveled to Kilrea last night for their Quarter final meeting in the Graham Cup. The Team had a good mix of Youth and experience and where not intimidated with facing Senior opposition. The Martins where quickest to settle and unlike other occasions they did make their good play count on the score board. With the forwards in top form Desertmartin where hitting the target at will beating the Kilrea goalkeeper 4 times in the first half.
With this 4 goal deficit kilrea where always going to find it difficult to get back into contention, and Desertmartin ran out convincing winner with 9 Points to spare.
Best in the night for the visitors was Mark Madden who was a constant threat to the home defense. Desertmartin now await the winners from the other side of the draw. The teams still in the Competition are Ballinderry, Slaughtneil and Bellaghy. The Semi-Final opposition will be another step in class but this team has shown that reputations count for nothing and with such a good run behind them Desertmartin will fancy their chances, and look forward to adding another big name Scalp to the growing list.
