Senior crash out

The seniors travelled to Swatragh on Wednesday night to take on Foreglen,
looking to build on their finish to the drawn game on Sunday and progress to a
semi final meeting with Claudy this Sunday.

In the end Foreglen were not to be denied their place in the semi final and
go forward to Sundays game on a score line of Desertmartin 0.10 Foreglen 1.09

Unlike the drawn game, the Martin's were quick out of the blocks and looked
a different team from the one that played the first 50 minutes on Sunday past.
With two changes to the starting team, which saw Michael McCann and Rory Murray
return to the starting line up the management seemed to have selected wisely as
Rory showed exactly what the club had been missing all year in his absents.

With Rory and Danny forming a Murray double act in the full forward line the
team were quickly into stride and only for an early Foreglen goal the Martins
played all the football in the first half going in at half time with a 0.08 to
1.3 half time lead.

This time around it was Foreglen who played the better second half of
football and was it not for Paddy Kidd, Desertmartin's man of the match on the
night, the game might have been over earlier than it was.

This said, Desertmartin had the chances and possession to win the game and a
penalty coming off the inside of the post off the boot of Donal Murray only
summed up the sort of night it was going to be for the Martin's.
